Caledon is situated in the Centre of the Overberg District, approximately 110km from Cape Town and lies nestled at the foot of the Klein Swartberg between the Winelands and Southern Cape District.

For centuries Caledon has been known for its hot mineral springs, which was popular with visitors in search for cures for a multitude of ailments. The springs were given a boost with the Casino development and now offers a series of pools, the Victorian bath and a world-class treatment centre. Caledon has a unique blend of magnificent Fynbos species. Agricultural tours, hiking trails in the Caledon Nature Reserve and an event such as the Wild Flower Festival is popular and stimulates local business activity.

Other attractions include the Caledon Museum where historical tours to Mill Street, Holy Trinity Church and the Hot Mineral Baths can be arranged. The overberg wheat belt of which Caledon is the centre has been declared an important area because of the high population of protected blue crane birds.

Caledon offers a dry climate, unpolluted air and a scenic landscape with stunning views across wide-open plains.
