The Cape Overberg is in the southernmost region of South Africa where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet at L'Agulhas - the southernmost point of the African continent.

Rural Villiersdorp is known as the Pearl of the Cape Overberg and boasts magnificent mountains, the Theewaterskloof Dam and award winning wine farms. At Malgas, drive along the banks of the Breede River to where the last remaining manually-operated ‘pont’ waits to ferry you across the mighty river. The rich history in the Cape Overberg is depicted in museums, some of which occupy an entire village. Among others are the Fishing and Shipwreck museums and one of the only Apple Museums in the world that is situated in the Elgin Valley. Historic mission stations can be found in the towns of Elim and Genadendal.
