JONGENSFONTEIN. Situated 10km west of Stilbaai, this little hamlet is one of the most popular holiday resorts along the Garden Route and offers spectacular views of the ocean. Accommodation facilities, of very high standard, include a caravan park close to the beach front, self catering houses and flats, and guesthouses. Facilities and services include shops, a postal service, take-aways at shops, and ATM. Sport facilities include a 9-hole golf course, jukskei and tennis. The waves at Jongensfontein are regarded as very popular among surfers. Also fishing, swimming, snorkelling and scuba-diving. The “Fonteinhuisie” is a historical landmark and serves as museum and local info centre.
MELKHOUTFONTEIN is situated about 7 Km inland from Stilbaai. Not too many years ago this township was amongst the poorest places in the country. Today Melkhoutfontein with more than 3500 permanent inhabitants has a proud heritage and is blooming with tourism activities.
