Kokstad Kwa-Zulu Natal Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Information

Named after the Griqua chief, Adam Kok III who settled here in 1863.

Kokstad is currently the fastest growing town in Kwa Zulu Natal. The main activity is dairy and sheep farming and the production of cheeses.

In the centre of the town one can visit various historical buildings like the Kokstad Museum and the old Town Hall and the St Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral with its double towers, built in 1884 flanked by two tall palm trees.
